'Taking Sannyas'  Introduction to Sannyas  Osho on Sannyas  Seekers of Truth  Taking sannyas ~ een persoonlijke individuele stap die niets van doen heeft met 'lid worden van': "There is nothing to be a member of, nothing to belong to."  Het Osho International Meditation Resort in Poona / India berichtte na Osho's dood: "Regarding sannyas, please let people know that they can take sannyas themselves by going through this website. We usually tell people to really take the time and read through everything what Osho is saying in these pages. Then they can change their name in looking through the list of names used in the past, or they can also keep their own name. And then they can celebrate their sannyas with their friends."  Het Latijnse woord 'persona' betekent masker, rol, ka-rakter. Het woord 'persoon' is hiervan afgeleid. Je naam staat symbool voor de persoon die je bent, gebonden aan de familie waartoe je behoort. Mystici spreken metaforisch gezien wel over het hervinden van je oorspronkelijke gezicht, je ware natuur ~ naamloze essentie voorbij de persoonlijkheid. Wie daar om vroeg in de tijd dat Osho nog leefde, kreeg ~ als hij of zij sannyasin (= leerling) wilde worden ~ een meditatienaam. Wil je nu voor jezelf een stap zetten, dan kies je als je daar plezier in hebt zelf een naam. Use it as a label, it is needed, it has some utility, but don't become too much identified with it.   You are not the name. The name is needed, it has a social function but no inner reality.
